Privacy Policy
Last updated August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Am I Accessible ("the Service"), operated by Chenango Web Design LLC ("we," "us," "our"), collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information: if you register, we collect your name, email address, organization (optional), and a hashed password.
Scan data: when you submit a URL, we store the URL, the scan results, your account (if logged in), and the IP address of the request — the IP address is used to enforce the free daily check limit for anonymous use and for basic abuse prevention.
Consulting requests: if you request free consulting, we collect the name, email, organization, website URL, and message you provide.
Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive limited billing metadata (such as your Stripe customer and subscription IDs) needed to manage your subscription.
Technical data: standard web server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) may be retained briefly for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the scanning service and your account.
- To enforce daily check limits and prevent abuse.
- To respond to consulting requests and support inquiries.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
- To communicate with you about your account or changes to the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of websites you scan for any purpose other than generating your report.
3. How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service — currently our hosting infrastructure and Stripe for payment processing — and only to the extent needed for them to perform that function. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Chenango Web Design LLC, our users, or others.
4. Data retention
We retain account and scan data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us; we'll delete it except where we're required to retain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your choices
You can review and update your account information at any time from your profile settings. You can request a copy of your data, or request that we delete it, by emailing us at the address below.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
